Trauma Recovery

Where ancient Ayurvedic wisdom meets modern understanding of trauma recovery. Whether you’re dealing with childhood experiences or adult trauma, our holistic approach offers a path to balance, peace, and renewed vitality.

This Isn’t Talk Therapy

The way that trauma lives in us is by promoting and maintaining a chronic level of living our life mostly through our defensive states. This looks like someone who finds themselves anxious most of the time or angry, reactive, and irritable most of the time, or bouncing between the two. Or they find themselves swimming in the shutdown and collapse feelings of shame, despair, numbness, dissociation, and withdrawal.

We weren’t given any education about how to work with our nervous system. In fact, it usually works out of the level of awareness for most people.

Talk therapy doesn’t really give us a way to change the nervous system. It helps us understand it, but it doesn’t help us work directly with it.

People will find they still have a massively dysregulated nervous system and then they think that then their life is just learning how to live with that. But we also know that anybody who’s truly interested and is willing to devote the energy and time can learn to shift their nervous system can learn to work with it in a way where they can return to a level of connection with themselves and with life and with others, instead of spending time in these unpleasant wound-up defensive states.

And so one way that I discovered really helped people heal from trauma is to work directly with the nervous system and to reduce its tendency to get stuck for prolonged amounts of time in these defensive states, which reduce our capacity to enjoy life and to connect with others.

To heal is to move

from stuckness to possibility,

from habit to mindfulness,

from constriction to expansion.

Childhood Trauma Recovery

Childhood trauma can leave deep imprints on our adult lives, affecting our relationships, self-esteem, and overall well-being. It can significantly impact adult relationships through the development of maladaptive coping strategies. These strategies, while initially protective, often become problematic in adulthood, affecting emotional regulation, trust, and interpersonal dynamics.

Ayurveda offers gentle, nurturing approaches to heal these early wounds. My childhood trauma recovery program focuses on rebuilding trust, fostering self-compassion, and creating a sense of safety within oneself.

I’ve been dealing with a complex chronic illness for many years. I now feel better physically and am emotionally more connected to myself and to the world. Zeeba brings knowledge, clarity, compassion and many helpful tools and techniques to her healing work. She did for me in 2 months what more than 20 years of therapy could not.

Adult Trauma Recovery

Adult trauma, whether from recent events or accumulated stress, can disrupt our lives and relationships and leave us feeling disconnected. The coping strategies that we developed to survive as children become maladaptive in adulthood. The persistence of maladaptive coping strategies in adulthood can have profound effects on trust, communication, intimacy, attachment to others, relationship satisfaction, conflict management, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal distress. While these impacts can be significant, healing is possible. With guidance, you can develop healthier coping strategies and improve your relationship dynamics.

I understand that healing is a personal journey. I will create a customized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs and supports your path to healing from trauma. My Ayurvedic approach for adult trauma recovery includes practices designed to help you regulate your nervous system, process your emotions, safely reconnect the mind and body, techniques to cultivate present-moment awareness, reclaim your personal power, and personalized lifestyle recommendations to support healing.

Zeeba makes sure that you do not leave your session feeling emotionally distraught or without a course of action. I would recommend her services to anyone with childhood trauma who wants sustainable solutions.

Any kind of disturbance or disease in the body, mind, or spirit can cause blockage and imbalance. If you feel like your life, emotions, or body are out of sorts, take a closer look at your chakras.

The Sanskrit word chakra translates into “wheel” and indicates movement. Chakras are energy wheels or energy centers that correspond to various organs and nerves in the body. They hold the energy of your thoughts, feelings, habits, and deeds. Although there are hundreds of chakras, there are seven main chakras that run from the base of the spine all the way to the crown of the head.

Chakras address the many needs of being human like survival, sexuality, power, and confidence, love, kindness, compassion, and empathy, authenticity, intuition, and Divine connection.

The goal of the energy body is balance. If you’re not feeling balanced in your mind, body, heart, and spirit, it’s time to explore your chakras and accelerate your healing.

You will get tips and practices to build and maintain:

    • Safety
    • Creativity
    • Determination
    • Love
    • Communication
    • Intuition
    • Connection
